It's rather fascinating to look back upon.
I sat down this morning with the calendar for the month of April. April has all the sports. The first game of the baseball season was yesterday; lacrosse got postponed due to muddy fields. There is no way I can be everywhere I want to be this month. It is a physical impossibility and one I have encountered year after year.
But, this is my first spring season working since my kids have been involved in sports, so I will miss more than I see. I realize I am not the first parent to ever have this dilemma, nor will I be the last. It's just new, to me.
We got through the first week at the salon brilliantly. Our home lives may be in flux but the salon is tremendous. It was exciting and fun and an all together a delightful week. It was late nights and doing stuff out of the salon to work IN the salon, but all in all, it was good.
The Magic Basement is a dismal mess. It is a laundry room. It is a sewing room. It is equal parts: holy shit, I have to pay these bills, Backstage Salon, the remnants of LIVE and slightly gearing up for the Suz Crew event in May. I need a magical housekeeper to come and help me straighten it all out. It is too b-o-r-i-n-g to do it myself.
My kitchen is a filing station and a place to make pasta. No real meals of substance have been made except for maybe once a week since I began working. I will remind you that was last June...
Cara and Candace are having their retreat this coming weekend and I will not be there. Instead, I will be celebrating the seniors at dance at their showcase on Friday night. I will be cheering for Peter under the lights on Saturday evening and I will be listening in awe on Sunday at an event Bella is performing at. Family has to trump self love every so often.
As I work out just how to get this blog written, the stuff I need to do with the businesses, because trust me, TGHR and Backstage go hand in hand, I thank you for putting up with sporadic posts.
I am a work in progress, and you're here to bear witness to it.

It's not a question but a lesson learned in time.
It's something unpredictable
But in the end it's right.
I hope you had the time of your life.
