I am excited to share that I will be taking the incomparable Cindi's place at Backstage Salon in Croton, NY. Cindi is the Salon Coordinator of the place - when you walk in the door, her smiling face is the first one you see. She keeps EVERYONE in the place on schedule and happy. Her shoes (way higher than anything you will ever see me in) will be very hard to fill. I will do my very best.
As a client of the salon, I have always loved the energy of the place. Exposed brick. Giant mirrors. Terrific lighting on trusses. You come in looking however it is you look, and you always leave looking fabulous. That's the point of a salon and spa. You go there to relax, rejuvenate and beautify. I don't care how foul your mood is when you walk in, by the time you leave, you WILL feel like a new you.
When I was young I fantasized about becoming a hairdresser. I wanted to work in a beauty parlor, as it was called then. Quite obviously that didn't happen. This is is the next best thing. Being a part of the staff who make you feel and look better. The salon is busy. Lots of people. Lots of personalities. I. Can't. Wait.
I believe it is the perfect fit for me. The beauty business ties in well with the philosophy of TGHR.
So, where does that leave TGHR? Exactly where it was and is. We will have events here on Thursday nights, Friday nights and Sunday afternoons. I will still be writing my blog. I will still be striving to create a retreat where the start day will be Sunday and the end day will be Tuesday. I am looking forward to having an awesome conversation with a friend next week about having TGHR sponsor an event that will make every woman I know want to be at. There are exciting times ahead and I look towards the future with tremendous anticipation.
Change is inevitable. When you can help steer it in a way that suits you, it is a bonus.
My hours at Backstage will be Wednesday from 9-5, Thursday and Friday from 9-7 and Saturday from 9-5.
I wish Cindi and her family all the best as they relocate from NY to NC ~ a change THEY initiated. Bonus. :-)
I just wanted to take a minute to thank all of Maggie's amazing friends from the East coast. I feel like you are all my friends! Thank you so much for the donations, but most of all thank you for the prayers! I have received messages and enjoyed reading Maggie's blog with your comments. The fact that so many of you who do not even know me would help like you have is amazing. I love you all from the bottom of my big old (now Bionic) heart! I pray to make it to Maggie's one of these days and hug each of you!
From Me:
Donations will continue to be accepted for as long as people are willing to give from their hearts to Amy's. The medical bills are astronomical I can't even pretend to imagine what that is like. If you recall, Jeff's company is closing it's doors in two weeks and he will be out of a job. COBRA, an absolutely necessary expense will be $1,400 a month. I would love to see this campaign go global, really I would. So, if you are so inclined, please share the link. I would greatly appreciate it. xo
