"E" is for Encourage

So. It is my "F" day and I see my "E" day never published correctly. How odd is that? I can't remember what I wrote from minute to minute, to try and recreate what I wrote yesterday will be impossible. It appears to have disappeared. I will do the best I can to actually rewrite the blog.

Welcome to my A to Z Alphabetical Inspirational Word Journey for the month of April. Naturally, there will be a picture quote and music.

I invite you to join me daily as I explore a word that inspires me and speaks to me in some way, shape, or form.

ENCOURAGEMENT. It is SO important.

So many of us have heard and even listened to the naysayers in our lives.

BUT - if we think about it for a little while, I bet you, like me, will find the biggest naysayer is yourself.

I often hear myself referring to myself as a moron. I have now learned to stop myself and redirect that thought. Do I make bonehead moves? Of course. Am I occasionally a bit of a jerk? Of course. But it absolutely does not define who I am.

I am much more of an encourager. I will be your cheerleader. I will remind you how fantastic you are. And in turn, I need to remind myself of the same thing.

Live your dreams loudly. KEEP dreaming. Encourage yourself when one dream becomes a reality and you're onto the next one.

I like to remind myself that I would never put down a toddler when they are learning to walk. N-E-V-E-R. I would cheer that kid on and applaud when they made it from the couch to the coffee table in three steps before falling on their bum. It wouldn't occur to me to do anything BUT that.

And so, as you go about your day, remember that toddler - when he or she appears before you as a friend, colleague and most especially, when it's yourself.

We all deserve encouragement. We're worth it.

I always encourage a class of learners to stand as a single unit and offer moral support to one another, instead of teasing/judging each other and making fun of others' mistakes.
I try to remind them at least once a week. Repetition will sow good seeds...
